Back in Las Palmas August 2020

Finally back home. Gio and Woezel stay in the Netherlands as long they like, Karin stay for collect the last things and I went already to check the condition from the Toroa after a time without crew. Without crew is not quit true because Jan was here for a couple of weeks and the crew from the Calypso checked on regular base the Toroa.

There is some sand past by and covered deck, solar panels but also the rolls, bearings and furl systems. So first a good cleaning and greasing job from al rollers and bearings also in the top of the mast. Drinking water tanks empty changing the water filters and refill fresh water. Anyway the Toroa was dry and the batteries charged by the solar panel even with a lot of sand on it.

I brought a new hatch for the front deck hatch which was already leaking in Scotland.

So I’m glad that I’m not bored.

If you didn’t work for a while with your tools and your tools were still changing place because during the travel we discover that an other place is better or safer than it is difficult to remember the last place, sometimes I was looking like crazy.

Yeah nice Karin is back, I did do my best to clean the boat but Karin is much more precisely than I’m  (I was still take my clothes out of my bag from the Netherlands) so Karin was immediately working to make everything clean and tide.

We made an appointment with the Calypso at El Hierro and before that we had to do some maintenance at  anchor chain, winches and lines and after that off we go. It was a nice time with the people at the pontoon but we will meet them again sometimes.
